18th Century Vanity Bench Purchase

Hey everyone, recently I purchased myself a piece of furniture I think is worthy of sharing. Its an 18th century queen anne bench I got from a woman off of kijiji.. Have I mentioned yet that I'm obsessed with searching for rare and beautiful things on kijiji.. especially antiques that I will be able to incorporate into the modern interior of my condo. I love the look of mixing the old with the new to give an eclectic feel to a space. I think I want to get this bench re-upholstered in a crushed grey velvet and add tufting to give it a more elegant feel. It has beautiful cast iron legs and is stuffed with either some kind of cotton material or horse hair.. It's always really interesting to get an old piece of furniture and find out its history :)

I feel in love with its ornate queen anne legs!

This is kind of what I want to do to it, but in crushed grey fabric.

My Inspiration came from a video I saw on House and Home TV. In the video they have two beautiful ornate 18th century ottomans under a very modern simple parsons style table. When I saw this video I had to have my own bench that I could duplicate this look with!  Ill share the link to the video so you can view the beautiful home.

So Much To Do, So Little Time

Hey everyone, Sorry I have been MIA for the last little bit. I have been sooooo busy the last few months. I am currently in the midst of moving to my boyfriends place since Ill be living there for a few months while our condo is being completed. I have finally got the move in date for our condo, which will be this november! I can't believe our building has been built in a year! It has been really exciting furniture shopping and picking out all our interior features.  We have purchased a custom couch from Alexander Design, which has two locations in the Summerhill and King street east areas here in Toronto. Its a really beautiful grey/ purple color that will be a great contrast against our white walls. We also bought a glass waterfall table from pavilion furniture.  I also want to buy two white linen wing back chairs.

I will also be leaving for South Carolina in a week for a two week vacation.  I can't wait to have a break from work and just relax. My boyfriend absolutely loves South Carolina and talks about it all the time, so it will be nice to finally see what all the hype is a about. We will be staying in a beach house and having access to the beach at all times will be heavenly.  At the end of August I will also be going to Niagara Falls for a week for my sisters birthday. She really wants to do a few wine tours and other touristy things.

This whole month I have also been painting and renovating my sisters new apartment.  She has rented a place in a cute new york style walk up that has a lot of character. This place however needed a lot of TLC and has taken a lot of work to have gotten to what it is now. It has a cute 1930's antique fireplace, crown molding and pocket doors.  Once it is all done ill post pictures of the finished product.

Thats all for now and sorry if my spelling and grammar is bad. lol I haven't been getting a whole lot of sleep lately because of how busy I've been. Getting up every day at 7 am is really stating to take a toll on me. :)

April Purchases

This past month I have spent a little more than average. I am going to a wedding tomorrow and had to get a dress and shoes. I am going to three weddings this summer, so I was hoping to get something I would wear to all of them.  Here are the items I have purchased this month :)

L'Agence Dress $495 CAD
I purchased this dress at the Intermix store here in Toronto. It was $495 in the store, but is showing a lower price online?

Jimmy Choo Luna Pumps $688.71
I purchased these shoes at Holt Renfrew and they were having a great promotion- You got 25% back on your purchase in a gift card. These shoes are incredibly comfy! I had originally gone to Yorkdale mall looking for Christian Louboutin's simple pumps in black, but apparently they are sold out in every Holt Renfrew in a size 9 and have a wait list for when they come back in... :(

Joie Silk Top $135 (On Sale)
I purchased this shirt for $109 at the Holt Renfrew on Bloor in a cream color.

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine In Boy $35

Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Stain In Coral Fauve #12- $33.14
I really love these lip stains. The color lasts forever! Im not a huge fan of lipstick or lipgloss because they come off so fast, but these stay on for hours. These are great if you just want to add a punch of color to your lips.

P90x 90 Day Challenge

Soo lately I have been feeling slightly out of shape and I know for sure my eating habits aren't the best.  I need to start a workout regimen that pushes me and makes me do the best workout I can. So.... I have decided to take the P90x 90 day challenge.  My boyfriend owns the dvd's and told me he will lend them to me, so I don't have to fork out all the money for them lol. My sister also recently bought the Brazilian Butt Lift Dvd's, which I will also be doing in conjunction with the P90x and yoga classes. My thighs and butt are my main concern, as I have a pretty flat stomach already, but it defiantly could do with some toning. My arms also could get a little stronger...

I plan to start P90x on May 1st, but will be working out everyday until then as well. I will keep you posted on my results and how I manage with the workouts. I am leaving for South Carolina on August 1st and am hoping to be in the best shape of my life, since I will be spending a lot of time on the beach! I will also be going to Vegas in August and know I will be spending a lot of time around pools! (if you haven't been to vegas before, it gets extremely hot there in August... around 50 degrees celsius and pool time is necessary!)

If anyone has had any good or bad experiences with P90x let me know! I'd love to hear your story!

Discovering Colored Denim

As Summer is getting closer, colorful denim is becoming more and more popular. I have seen almost every brand of jeans coming out with their own line of colored denim. My Personal Favorites are Rag and Bone and Current/Elliott's Printed colored denim. Take a look at all the great examples I have listed below and get some outfit inspiration!

Hey, Remember Me? Interior decorating and Shopping!

Ok so I haven't posted in quite some time and I'm starting to think I should give my self certain days to post on. This way things will become more regular and you will know when a new post will be coming.

**A quick update on my life:**

So I have recently went to the kitchen showroom and picked out my kitchen cabinetry, hardware, fridge and extras. I have chosen to go with a basic white shaker style cabinetry, modern silver hardware and a bottom freezer fridge. We have also upgraded to get hidden valiance lighting so that our counters can be lit up at night.  Our Countertops are going to be absolute black granite and I want to put in a white carrera marble back splash to tie it all together.  This Wednesday we are going to meet with the interior designer to pick our floors, bathroom vanity and everything else that has to be chosen.  The building is really starting to come together and is starting to actually look like something. YAY!

Here are some examples of what I want for my kitchen:

Now off the decorating topic and onto shopping! :)  I went shopping yesterday with my mom and bought a very pretty lace dress I can wear to the wedding I'm going to next month.  I needed something that was a bit more conservative, but still body hugging since that style looks best on me. I ended up buying a dress at the Intermix store we have here in Toronto and couldn't be happier. I looked around Holt Renfrew for about an hour, but couldn't find a thing I liked, which for me is very unusual. I saw a very beautiful DVF sequin gown, but it was white.. so that was a no go.  Now all I need to buy is a pair of shoes. I have been eyeing a pair of Christian Louboutin pigalle pumps so maybe ill get those to pair with it.

Here is my outfit idea:

You're Beautiful

What do you think about the shoes with the dress?? Let me know what you think?
